Shinju Eastern Steampunk Fuse by pervyyaoifancier Shinju Eastern Steampunk Fuse by pervyyaoifancier
My second Eastern Steampunk Fusion, Theodosia Shinju! She's not really a character...I just like the name LOL The colors are actually cream and off white, not stark white, but, MEH! I adore the dual color kimono look. You really can't see it very well in most of these pictures, but the bottom part of the kimono is subtly patterned! Hooray for thrift stores! They are the lazy cosplayer's bestest friend in the whole WORLD!

Costs:
Fabric for kimono: $8 (1 queen bed sheet and one twin from Goodwill)
Corset :$15 (ebay)
Hat: $25 (local vintage clothing store)...doesn't that seem so wrong?
Tassle and pearl bustle: $5 (window valences from Goodwill)
Obi cord: UT's charm belt LOL

All the other bits I already had, including the geta and kanzashi! I will be making tabi socks I believe... I am going to embellish more, but it's good for now LOL Also waiting for a wig to come in! XD

This is out of this world, sheer genius, and such a beautiful outfit. I'm especially impressed how you were able to create this costume out of sheets and ebay finds. Thrift stores are indeed wells of inspiration for fans.

But it DOES exist! :XD: Really due to the influence of my friend :iconwindy-path: and her irritation with traditional Steampunk fashion. It made me want to do something different Thank you very much!

and furthermore....Goodwill is an amazing place for cosplayers to shop. Both me and my besties are frequent fliers there. Anytime I visit a new town, the first place I find is the locations of all their thrift stores.

Ooooh! WOW:wow: That came out beautifully my love. I love the hat, it really adds that little bit of extra vintage flair. The tones really are quite beautiful. It looks fabulous on you.

*snickers* Yeah, I saw you undertaker hip chain. Still the tassel and the chain worked really well.
